Have you looked at the placement chart for help?

I'm sure some others who are using those programs can help out more.

phonics / reading placement ?
My daughter is coming up on 5 yrs old and is sounding out cvc and most ccvc, cvcc words. (We've just been using phonics books to teach her) We need to work on sight words and all those rule breaking words. Any suggestions for a a program or a way to teach those items?

Asking for LHTH every day!
We love Little Hands to Heaven. My 4 yr old daughter is asking to do her school work every day now. Before she would ask to do anything but school. We find it's just enough structure to ease into the homeschooling journey and it's a lot of fun. My 2 year old son enjoys doing some of the activities w...

Congrats on your choice. We just started it with my 4 yr old DD and she asks for more every day. I think you'll be happy using this program. Instead of gift certificates, could you just put that money in an envelope until you have enough to buy? Then you could buy from where ever you want. Also as a...

I would think it would depend on the child. My DS is 2yrs (in Jan) and is no where near ready to do LHTH. He does like the songs and thinks the activities are funny. But he is not getting anything out of it. Which is ok, since it's meant for my DD who is 4.5 yrs. My teo are polar opposites. DD very ...

Welcome Erin! We're still new to hmeschooling, but I will share one thing I've learned. Don't compare yourself (or your kids) to others to much. It leads to frustration and unwanted expense (and stress) of curriculum hopping. I bought LHTH a few years ago, but got sucked in by 2 bigger names. Bought...

Instead of using my own spread sheet or database, I've used librarything.com to store all our books. It's a great way to organize your books and it has a search tool on it so you can search for the book title, or in my case, I can search under each curriculum to find all the books for that program. ...

Newbie intro
Hi Ladies!
I've been lurking for awhile now trying to figure out if LHFHG is what we wanted to use for our K year. Since I just placed an order, I thought I'd come and officially say hi. Thanks for all the info I've been able to get through previous posts. I'm looking forward to our K year!
