Re: Preparing to Build: English2 and Dyslexia
We also did R&S 2 completely orally with dyslexic ds. He is now doing R&S 3, and we do the vast majority of it orally also. When I do have him do the writing, I allow him to write directly in the book so he can focus on the skills rather than transferring the information (copying sentences or whatev...

Re: Question about showing work in Math
Larissa, I did not think you were saying that. I hope you didn't think my last post was directed at you! . I totally got what you were saying. When I saw my original post on the main board, it just looked....I don't know....can't really say....But the title I chose didn't really reflect my qu...

Re: Let Me See Your Work???? (Math Question)
Thank you both for your replies. After re-reading my original post, I am afraid it may come across in a way that I did not intend. So..... Please let me assure you that I am in no way considering Singapore Math may not be so great. Entirely the opposite. I have had many, many days when I kick myself...

Question about showing work in Math
For those who have completed or are in upper levels of Math...... 'When your kids are getting all correct answers, but don't write down anything but the answers, and can't really even verbalize HOW they got the answer.............do you work with them until they CAN/WILL write it out and/or verbally...

Re: Dithor
If she doesn't mind taking a longer time reading a book I'll tell you what I did my my oldest until she got more comfortable reading longer sections. We did DITHOR "half speed" she read every day, but only did the activities every other day, so 30 days worth of reading in each book, but still the 1...

Re: Handwriting Question
Level A does start out with reviewing the letters. Some of mine have needed that review and others have not. It just depended on how much other writing they had done in addition to just the handwriting practice in the K Book. You can easily skip the review section and go straight to the verse practi...

Is this terrible?
We have used R&S English from the very beginning. My oldest was using it even before we found HOD. With my girls, we have always used the student textbook as a non-consumable text (as it is meant to be). My son (who is not quite 10, and dyslexic) did very well with R&S 2. We did it all orally, but h...

Re: So excited! Getting ready to move on to Rev to Rev!
How exciting! My oldest had big plans to do the same thing this year. But due to life circumstances (lots of unexpected travels), she didn't get to stay on that path very long. The good news though, is that since she started out with that in mind, our time set-backs did not put her "behind" where sh...

Re: Thinking About Putting Lance in Little Hearts
It sounds like you think Lance would truly be better working in Little Hearts, but the thing that is holding you back is wondering about the time constraints. If that is the case, I think you could easily make the transition and not feel much different in the amount of time. You are already doing hi...

This is a page of the Scheduling thread. If you scroll down a bit, Tansy did a GREAT job of compiling past posts that list times of each box for all of the guides. SUPER helpful in planning!!!

I Love this Board
I do not get to get on here much. I think the last time was around the beginning of the school year. But each time I do pop back in, I am so encouraged by the wise counsel here. I had a little extra time today and just spent over an hour just going through the first few pages of threads. I didn't ev...
