Re: More Q's on finaggling 3 (maybe 4!) books
Hi Sally! :D Sounds like you're doing a great job thinking through your school schedule. For me that THINKING time can be oh-so-helpful when the rubber hits to road for our school year. Here is what we have found at our house... ~We do well with a routine. We do all the same things in the sam...

Re: Questions/Concern about Science and History
I think you've brought up something significant about HOD's methodology - everything is sooooo gentle in the way it is introduced that you can not realize you are hitting on the key concepts and terms regularly. This is why if one uses HOD they really risk missing something significant if they skip...

Yay! I well-remember our 1st day with HOD and how much my kids loved it, and we're now finishing year 4 and enjoying it every bit as much. Enjoy your little taste of HOD this spring!!!

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
We have found the same thing as Tamara to be true. Our year in CTC, especially, really gave a lot of info on the topic as we were studying Genesis. And, I do know that more on worldviews and creation vs. evolution is planned for future guides. I have loved the way that HOD is encouraging my kids to ...

Re: English & Writing for 6th grade RTR
We're just now finishing RTR for my son's 6th grade year. (And have LOVED it, by the way. ) RTR will continue to use R&S 4 for English. We completed the 2nd half of that text this year for RTR. So, if you did just a few more lessons, and were ready to begin Lesson 64, you'll be right on track...

Re: Exclusive HOD users?
We do. :D We use HOD as-is and completely, and couldn't be happier! :D 4 1/2 years in our house. Our oldest went to a small Christian school for K and 1st, then we brought him home for 2nd grade. I used some things given to be by friends that year...and decided to order something for my preschooler....

Re: Will Dithor work as my jr. High literature
I would agree with Lynn, and think that DIHTOR would be a fabulous choice for Jr. High Literature. I know that I've seen Carrie say that if you haven't been using DITHOR all along that it would even make a good 9th grade lit program, so I'm thinking that it really would be a great choice for what yo...

Re: How long do you take off after a baby?
I usually plan about 2 weeks off. I know some people like to take longer, but too much unstructured time at our house is more difficult for me to manage than school is!!!! This is EXACTLY what we did with my last 2 little guys. :D 2 weeks seemed perfect for us. Asa was born August 26, and we starte...

Re: Earlybird math out of print?
...or, even if they did stop printing them for HOD, there will be an update that you can print off of the website with the new schedule for whatever would replace those books. So, you could just replace the math box and still use your guide.
