Re: Preparing supplies (notebooks)
I shouldn't have said print...I meant copied. But now in CTC my daughter has just started writing her experiment information straight into the notebook just following the template HOD uses. I like the idea of comic book- style! :) My kids would probably love doing that too! Glad you found something ...

Re: Preparing supplies (notebooks)
I know you have an older guide, but did you buy the Student Notebooking pages? If you did, that would cover your vocabulary and history and timeline. We use a 5 subject lined notebook for math, dictation, grammar, poetry. We use an unlined sketchbook from the dollar store that for science and I prin...

Re: Bigger Handwriting
Ok! Thank you! His cursive is still big, but he can do it. I started cursive in K and he's already been working the Cheerful Cursive book. I think his cursive is better than his printing!

Bigger Handwriting
How important is FMS and handwriting when starting Bigger? I understand from reading all the posts here that there is a big jump in writing from Beyond to Bigger. My DS 7 will start Bigger in the fall. I am fully confident in his abilities to handle the workload and reading and everything else. But ...

Re: 7 YO Super Interested in Periodic Table of Elements
This is awesome! Thanks for the tip! We haven't gotten to MTMM yet, so I wouldn't have known about it. I love that it's an HOD resource too!

Re: 7 YO Super Interested in Periodic Table of Elements
Thanks I'll check it out! I also found a Periodic Table of Elements puzzle and a Monopoly-esque game based on the Periodic Table where instead of properties, you buy groups of elements and you pay with the amount of protons that are in an element. Those both looked fun and interesting.

7 YO Super Interested in Periodic Table of Elements
Hello! My 7 YO DS is very interested in the Periodic Table of Elements right now. I have seen chemistry kits for younger kids, but most homeschool chemistry resources seem to be for older kids. I wonder if anyone here has any recommendations on ways I can foster his interest at an age-appropriate le...

Re: Math for 5th grader
Sometimes...I like to have the Home Instructor's Guide on hand in case I need it, but I don't always. Especially for the younger years using the textbook is enough. So it's only if my child is struggling with a concept and I've come to the end of the ways I know to teach it that I will then turn to ...

Re: Math for 5th grader
I'm not familiar with Math Mammoth - is there something specific she doesn't like about it? We use Singapore and like it. It took a little bit of adjusting to their style of teaching when we started it a few years ago, but once we got used to it it's been great. My daughter is almost done with 4B an...

Re: Visual History Set & Other Guide Samples
I see where the Visual History says 4 days a week, but I can't find anywhere that says music is now only 1 day a week. Do you have a link to that page? TIA [/quote] It's here: https://heartofdakota.com/package/beyond-little-hearts-for-his-glory-basic-package/ Scroll down to where it shows how the bo...

Re: Visual History Set & Other Guide Samples
It’s on the website- if you are shopping for the packages it shows you where on the guide it is and it tells you how often. Visual History says 4 days and is highlighted on the music box. Music is highlighted in the same spot and says 1 day a week. https://heartofdakota.com/package/beyond-little-he...

Visual History Set & Other Guide Samples
Will there be samples of the updated guides with the new products scheduled soon? I would like to see how the Visual History Set will be scheduled in the updated Beyond Guide. I'm particularly curious how the Leif Erickson book will be included. I know how he and the Vikings relate to early American...

I was just going to ask the same question! I see all the other new products, but not that one yet and I want to add it to my cart. Thank you for asking this!

Re: What does your day look like?
Here's a link to a great thread with lots of information on schedules in case you haven't seen that. https://forum.heartofdakota.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2093 Here's what our schedule will look like in the fall with running Little Hearts/Beyond/CTC. We only have a few weeks left of Beyond and CTC but...
